I think that technology is one of the ways that us students learn alot from. I also think that more of the teachers in the school should use more technology things because right now only some teachers use it everyonce in awhile. Teachers should not only use it but use it effectively, such as using web videos and online discussions.

I dont really know if we dont have as much technology here as other states. So i wouldnt know if we are behind-in-the-times in technololy but i do know that most California high schools have a lap top for every student and that we dont even have any lap tops for students then that must mean that we are behind-in-the-time.

I think that some kids would be able to learn better with more technology in the class room and it could effect other students in a different way. They might get distracted more easily and not be able to learn. For the most part i think the majority of students it would help them, and us students will have to use a lot of technology when we go to college so if we learn how to use it properly now and how to use it effectivly then we will do better off in the future.

Honesty
How important is honesty to you? Is it more important than kindness? Share a story of a time you or someone you know was not honest and it caused problems or was 'too honest' and it caused problems.

Honesty is very important to me. I think that it can be more important then kindness. Sometimes being honest is being in kind but, other times when your to honest then it can also be very rude. So honesty and kindness are both important.

I know this girl and she is very honest with everyone. She tells you what ever is on her mind. She doesnt really think if it will hurt the other persons feelings. If she thinks you look ugly then she is gonna tell you that you look ugly. If you didnt do your best at a basketball game then she will tell you that it is not ok at all even if you did better then her. So being too honest is usually a bad thing.

There has also been an experience where someone lied to my friend. There was this guy and he said that he loved her and all that stuff. So she was really happy. Then all of a sudden he just totally left her. After she found out that everything he did was just pretend. Everything was a lie. So everything just was bad from then on. So then her friend talked to him and said things to him that he had nothing to say back because he knew that he lied and what he did was wrong and stupid.

Imagine that you have a superpower. The Power of Persuasion. You can convince anyone of anything. How would you use that power? What would you try to get, do, change? Would you use it for good? Or evil? Describe what the Power of Persuasion is.

If i had the power o persuasion then I would use it all the time. It might be a bad thing sometimes, well for other people but not for me. I would use it to convince my parents to let me hang out all the time and stuff like that. I would also convice my coach that I shouldnt have to run suicides when he says i have to.

I think i would use my power for good and evil. I might do something that I think is good but other people think it is evil so it really could be both good and evil at the same time. I would try to get some money or something out of it. Just convince people to give me like 20 bucks every now and then. I would just save that money for a while and i would havent to get a job for a while.

For me persuasion means to convince someone to let you get what you want or to convince them to do something they dont want to do. I think you can also compromise with some one and it can be persuasion. An example is if you want to go hang out with your friends on a friday night and your parents say no, you could say please please i will do the dishes when i get home. That usually gets them. You just have to know what they want done and say you will do it when you get home if they let you go hang out.

Hiding something
Sometimes because of pride or ego or a mistaken idea, one person may not confide in another or tell them the whole truth. Have you ever been in a situation in which you didn’t want the other person to know something about you? You had something you wanted to keep secret? How did you act? Did the other person realize you were hiding something? How did your behavior change the way they acted toward you?

It has happened before to me. Or sometimes when some one asks you a question that u dont want to answer and they make you tell them, then i just make something up. I kinda do it alot when i dont want to tell someone the truth. I guess it is just easier then to tell the truth. Well its easier until they found out that you lied to them.

If i told them something that wasnt true sometimes they know your friend. so they asked my friend and my friend told them the truth. so they thought i lied to them(well i did) but still. then u get in a big mess of drama and it isnt so fun. In the end you kinda just end up telling them the truth anyways.

It would probably be better if you just told the truth then. Even though i am the one saying that I probably still wont. I mean there are some things that you just dont want people to know and when they just keep asking you and asking you and you still dont want to tell them then you just make something up. Well at least i do. When I tell them the lie I try to act the same because then it is less noticable that you are lying to them. If you are a good lying then they will probably never find out that you lied to them. Atleast you hope they will never find out the truth. So that is why you just act normal. Just what you usually act like.

Describe your best or worst Halloween costume ever. Use lots of details and explain why it was so awesome or lame.

I think my best halloween costume was when i dressed up as a dead softball player. It wasnt really my idea though. It was a last minute thing. I only needeed like make up and maybe like an old softball uniform that i will never wear again.

So what i did was I got some old clothes and cut them. Just random cuts and slices in them. Then i made it look like the clothes where really dirty. So it looked like the clothes were old and dusty somewhat of what they would look like as if i had been in a grave in the ground for awhile. Then I got some long socks and made them all old and dusty looking and i then moved on to my hair and make up.

For my hair and make up i went all out. Lets start with my hair. I ratted my hair so big it was pretty freaking awesome. Then for my make up i made my eyes all black and had smears of make up all over my face so i looked dead. Then i made it so it looked like i had scabs on my face. it was pretty intense and that was all my costume was.

Breaking Dawn
I read breaking dawn a little bit ago. Kind of a while ago but i still remember it really good. I really liked this book. Instead of it being number 2 out of the 10 books selected by teens it should be number 1.

The book was really interesting. Alot of stuff happened in it. It was probably my favorite book because Bella finally becomes a vampire and when i was ready all the other books that came before Breaking Dawn i was waiting for her to turn into a vampire. so in the end i was happy with the results of what happened in Breaking Dawn. Another reason why i liked the book is because there were alot of events.

I think Breaking Dawn definatly deserves to be in teh top 10. I mean come on! it was full of things that just made it so u couldnt put the book down. It pulls u in. I love it. I think that teens really like it is because it is a hot vampire who falls in love with a regular girl, and they get married. How crazy is that, and the writer just makes it so u want to know what happens between them and how everything is going to end up. I really like the book Breaking Dawn. Totally top 10 material.

It seems like reading Edgar Allen Poe stories around Halloween is a rite of passage for students in English classes. He wrote poems such as "The Raven" and "Annabel Lee" and stories like "The Tell-Tale Heart", "The Black Cat", "The Fall of the House of Usher", "The Cask of Amontillado", "The Masque of the Red Death", "The Pit and the Pendulum", etc.If you have read Poe stories before, which ones have you read and what do you remember of them? I am pretty sure that i read a Edgar Allen Poe story in 7 grade i think. I am not sure. It was along time ago and i dont even know if it was Edgar Allen Poe. The book that i think i read was "The Cask of Amontillado"

The Cask of Amontillado was kinda creepy. i dont remember much about it though. The only part that i kinda remember is that i think like some one got burried in stones or something, and another person had to put the last brick in a wall that made it so the other person couldnt get out. i dont really know. it is kinda confusing, and i dont even know if i am talking about the right book.

I dont know if this is the same story but in 7 grade we also read a book that might have been by Edgar Allen Poe but im not sure. well the story was about like a jewel or ruby or diamond. some with a lot of value. And there was a poor lady and she was going to go to some where fancy and someone let her borrow a necklace that was really expensive. and when the lady was at the dance or what ever she was at. she lost the necklace and they couldnt find it. so her and her husband worked the rest of there lives to get money to pay for it and then in the end they found out it was a fake necklace.
